Electricity & Electronics
IMEX distribute various electricity and electronics trainers from companies such as LJ, Feedback and Flite Electronics.
Typically these trainers fit into one of three categories:
- Powered breadboards: Flite, E&L Cadet
- Stand alone use with paper-based documentation: Flite, Feedback and LJ
- Computer lead curriculum with or without virtual instruments: Feedback and LJ
Powered Breadboards such as the PP-272 from Flite Electronics is a self-contained electronics experiment unit consisting of a large breadboard area and DC power supply. Terminals provide +5V at 1A and variable +/-15V at 500mA, allowing experiment and project circuits to be easily constructed and tested. A mains switch is also provided, as is short circuit protection.
More comprehensive computer lead solutions are available from Feedback and LJ.
Feedback
A kit of Basic Electricity & Electronics components, housed in a convenient storage tray with identification information. Introduces the student to the basic principles of electrical theory and circuits and the physical and electrical characteristics of commonly used semiconductor devices and circuits. The course begins with an introduction to the general concepts of electricity and electronics, which is followed by practical assignments. A more detailed list of modules is available here.
LJ
D3000 can provide a comprehensive electronics instruction program. It has expansion capabilities that include specialist electronics areas such as microcontrollers, avionics or autotronics. Students are able to use virtual or real instrumentation, and learning materials are available via a LAN-based management system or VLE. Extensive use is made of computer-configured fault insertion for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
