RSA2200A and 3300A Series Real-Time Spectrum Analysers
Define issues and solve problems faster by characterising your device, system or signal more completely and rapidly than previously possible with swept spectrum analyzers. Tektronix RSA2200A and RSA3300A Series Real-Time Spectrum Analysers capture many signals not viewable on swept spectrum analysers by seamlessly capturing and storing a span of RF frequencies all at one time. Once a signal is captured it can be viewed simultaneously and analyzed in time-correlated frequency, time and modulation domains. RSA Series instruments include not only Real-Time Spectrum Analyser fast-signal capture, internal memory and modulation analysis but also functionality and operation of a swept spectrum analyser for looking at very wide spans, all in an integrated, transportable package.

Trigger, Capture & Analyse
The RTSA offers unmatched synergy between triggering,
capture, and analysis features. This balance is essential
for dealing with today’s complex RF signals: powerful
triggering enables qualified capture; seamless capture
and memory enable storage of a continuous time record;
extensive analysis tools provide correlated views of
frequency, time and modulation.
Powerful triggering has long been the missing ingredient in
traditional swept spectrum analysers. The RTSA is the first
mainstream spectrum analyser to offer frequency-domain
triggers and other useful modes in addition to simple free
run or external triggers. The Frequency Mask Trigger allows
the user to set up both amplitude and frequency conditions
for an acquisition.
RSA Series Spectrogram uniquely shows time-varying signal behavior in frequency change/stability, spectrum occupancy, pulsed signal
timing, power change and more! The sample on this page shows the frequency settling characteristic of a transmitting device.
Time-correlated multi-domain view provides a new level of insight about design or operational problems and possible solutions.
The example on this page includes frequency, time, and modulation domain views of an AM-modulated pulsed signal with pulse-to-pulse
phase variation measured in the modulation domain.
The Spectrogram clearly shows the behavior of a frequency hopping signal. A signal characteristic that
can’t be seen with swept SA. The RTSA’s seamless capture with deep memory can acquire and record RF and time domain signal data for
post-capture analysis.
The Frequency mask trigger allows you to capture
elusive transients in a crowded spectral environment.
The Spectrogram aides in identification and analysis of
hidden, unknown or interfering signals. Notice the fourth
signal from the left. It triggers the acquisition by leaving
the mask. It’s time history can be seen on the
Spectrogram. Unlike the swept SA, the
RTSA is able to capture a glitch anywhere in the span, any-time.
The Frequency Mask Trigger can be set to ignore the
"normal" signal frequencies, ignore low-level aberrations,
and trigger only when an anomaly exceeds a specific power
level.
